The opening ceremony of the 14th UN Crime Congress
Justice Minister Somsak Thepsuthin chaired an opening ceremony of the 14th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice at the Ministry of Justice, Changwattana Rd., Laksi district, Bangkok. Whereby Prof. Dr. Wisit Wisitsoraat, the Permanent Secretary for Justice, delivered the opening remarks and Amb. Adisak Panupong, TIJ Advisor, represents the TIJ at the ceremony.
The United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice convenes every five years since 1955. This year, the Government of Japan hosts the 14th Crime Congress in Kyoto between 7-12 March 2021. The event was postponed from 2020 by the United Nations due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
