TIJ to attend the 28th UN CCPCJ.
But what’s it about?
The Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ) was created under the United Nations’ Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in 1992. It holds annual meeting sessions in order to exchange views and updates on international cooperation in crime prevention and promote criminal justice system. Issues covered in the meeting also include the implementation of relevant conventions; the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime (UNTOC), the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), and international documents on anti-terrorism and emerging threats such as Cybercrime, Environmental Crime, and Crime against Wildlife. It also promotes the UN standards and norms, exchange of information on crime prevention and criminal justice system, and the role of the CCPCJ in achieving the SDGs.
Follow our updates from the 28th Session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ), 20-24 May 2019, Vienna, Austria.
