Prof. Dr. Kittipong Kittayarak
Prof. Dr. Kittipong Kittayarak received his first law degree from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. He earned his LL.M. degree at Cornell Law School in 1983 and returned to Thailand, where he qualified for the Thai bar. He then obtained an L.L.M from Harvard Law School in 1988 and a J.S.D. from Stanford in 1990.
He was selected an outstanding alumnus of the Faculty of Law, Chulalongkorn University in 2008, a member in the Thailand Fulbright’s Hall of Fame in 2010 and man of the Year by the Association for the Promotion of Women's Status Under the Royal Patronage in 2000.
Prof.Dr. Kittipong currently serves as Executive Director, Thailand Institute of Justice since 2015. He served as Advisor to the Prime Minister from 2014 to 2015. He was appointed Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice, in 2008, a post he held until 2014; and Deputy Permanent Secretary from 2003 to 2008.
Prof.Dr. Kittipong started his career at the Office of Attorney, such as Public Prosecutor at the Office of Attorney General, Assistant Secretary to Attorney General. After several years of endeavor, he became the director of the Institute of Criminal Law at the Office of Attorney General. In 2005, he was a Director General at the Department of Probation. His highest position in Civil service was a permanent secretary of the Ministry of Justice.
In addition, he also serves as a Member of the National Reconciliation Committees (NRC), Board of directors at Transparency International Thailand, Advisory Council at Cornell Law School and a Member of Committee on Truth for Reconciliation Commission of Thailand (TRCT).
