Launch of the First PNI Newsletter

Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ) and United Nations Asia and Far East Institute (UNAFEI) jointly launched the first issue of PNI Newsletter at the 31st CCPCJ side event.

In January 2022, the members of the PNI decided to publish a “PNI Newsletter” to  share information on the contributions of the Network to benefit a wide range of international and regional stakeholders and the general public. It also promotes cooperation within the Network and with UN entities and with national and international stakeholders.

“This Newsletter reflects the commitment of the PNI to supporting the UN Crime Programme and presents the latest effort by the PNI to contribute to the international community.  The Newsletter informs our readers of what the PNI do and how we do our work through well-defined collaboration among our members and stakeholders. We group the information on recent publications and activities into key areas to make them more accessible. The featured short articles aim to benefit the general public and those in the academia who wish to learn more about the UN Crime Programme.” Dr. Phiset Sa-ardyen, executive director of the TIJ, said at the 31st CCPCJ side event on May 17, 2022.

The United Nations Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Programme Network (PNI) consists of the United Nations on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and 18 institutes and entities around the world, including the Thailand Institutes of Justice (TIJ). The mission of the PNI is to assist the international community in strengthening cooperation in crime prevention and criminal justice on the global, regional, and sub-regional levels, within the framework of the United Nations Crime Programme.
