In cooperation with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ) held the International Experts Conference for module development for prison staff in compliance with the United Nations Rules for the Treatment of Women Prisoners and Non-custodial Measures for Women Offenders, or the Bangkok Rules, from 19th to 21st March 2013.





There were over forty participants, including representatives from ASEAN member states, international organizations, government sectors, and educational institutes convening to discuss the good practice of the Treatment of Women Prisoners and Non-custodial Measures for Women Offenders and to widely disseminate information of the Bangkok Rules. The training programmes of UNODC were also designed in order to extend the international collaboration to effectively implement the Bangkok Rules.
