The United Nations states that in May 2019, the Sustainable Development Goal of the month is #SDG16 - Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions to highlighting its role and how it is important to advancing the entire 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The TIJ, as the one and only United Nations Programme Network Institute (UN-PNI) in the ASEAN, with coordination from the government of Thailand, thrives to formulate effective, fair, and accountable criminal justice policies and institutions to tackle crime, corruption, and injustice in a society. Priority mission of the TIJ is to promote and cultivate knowledge related to the rule of law to strengthen the capacity of practitioners in the criminal justice system in order to create fair and justice societies.
With endeavors to fulfill the mission, the TIJ, in close collaboration with all stakeholders in society, have been supporting society to achieve effective, fair, and accountable policy-making process and strong institutions since its inception.
