TIJ research team, attended the Seminar on Effectiveness of Thailand Internet Crime against Children on Child Exploitation

During 7 – 9 September 2016, Dr. Sita Sumrit, Chief of the Women and Children Empowerment Programme, together with TIJ research team, attended the Seminar on Effectiveness of Thailand Internet Crime against Children on Child Exploitation at Methavalai Hotel Cha-am, Phetchaburi


During the seminar, TIJ representatives discussed about the patterns of online crimes against children with various agencies such as the Thailand Internet Crime against Children (TICAC) of the Royal Thai Police, Department of Special Investigation (DSI), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and NGOs.



Moreover, Dr. Sita Sumrit also presented TIJ’s research project on the Patterns and Evolutions of Child Sex Tourism: Child Exploitation in selected ASEAN Countries (Thailand, Lao P.D.R., and Cambodia) in collaboration with Pol. Lt. Col. Narin Phetthong, Advisor to TIJ’s research project.
