On November 15, 2024, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), in partnership with the Embassy of Italy in Thailand and Chulalongkorn University, hosted the First International Day for the Prevention of and Fight against All Forms of Transnational Organized Crime. The event aims to raise awareness among young generations on the pervasive threats posed by all forms of transnational organized crime while providing a platform for youth to showcase their awareness raising campaigns on this pressing global issue.
On this occasion, Dr. Phiset Sa-ardyen, Executive Director of the Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ), delivered a statement, reaffirming TIJ's dedication to advancing crime prevention and combating transnational organized crime as part of our mandate under the United Nations Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Programme Network of Institute (UN-PNI). He emphasized the importance of youth engagement and empowerment in building a safer, more just global society.
