More Detail

The Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ) is committed to advancing a child-centred justice system by positioning youth not merely as passive recipients of justice, but as active partners in shaping its direction. This approach moves beyond simply listening to children—it recognizes their right to co-create and influence justice processes from the outset.

In line with this vision, TIJ collaborated with the Child and Youth Advisory Committee (CYAC), a global youth-led network that champions children’s rights within justice systems. Together, they co-hosted a parallel event under the theme "Engaging Youth in Shaping Child-Centred Justice: A Foresight Workshop Inspired by Gamification". The workshop featured the Arcadia gamification tool, co-developed by TIJ and innovation strategist Paricha Duangtaweesub, designed to amplify youth voices and provide a creative platform for imagining and co-designing a justice system that reflects their needs and aspirations.

Participants—over 30 youths and justice stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and countries—engaged in dynamic, cross-cultural dialogue. The event fostered deep exchange of ideas, policy recommendations, and future-focused solutions, reinforcing global networks among youth advocates and justice innovators.

This forward-looking workshop took place on June 3, 2025, as a parallel session during the 5th World Congress on Justice with Children in Madrid, Spain, held under the theme “Advancing Child-Centred Justice: Preventing and Responding to Violence Affecting Children in the Justice System” from June 2–4, 2025.
