More Detail

The International Convening of Formerly Incarcerated Women was held at the Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ) on December 6, 2024, in collaboration with INFIW, HON, and We-Trust Network. The event brought together formerly incarcerated women from the US, Australia, Brazil, Spain, Zambia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand, to share their perspectives while establishing human rights networks. The event aimed to build relationships, share knowledge, and expand networks.

At the event, Restart Academy members presented "The Situation of Formerly Incarcerated Women in Thailand." This talk covered prison life, reintegration issues, and how the Starting Point School supports women. The school provides skill development, hands-on work experience, and personal and professional growth to help students reintegrate into society.

The event also allows the TIJ and Restart Academy to interact with global organizations and networks to support projects that improve the lives and rights of imprisoned women. These actions promote justice and equality.
