Southeast Asian Regional Roundtable Discussion on Women as Justice Makers a

On 14 October 2016, Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ), in collaboration with the Australian Embassy in Thailand, hosted the Southeast Asian Regional Roundtable Discussion on Women as Justice Makers at the TIJ office.


The roundtable discussion aimed to provide a platform for women in justice system of Southeast Asia to share their knowledge, experience and obstacles working in the felid. It also intended to enhance our research on “Women as Justice Makers in the ASEAN region: roles, trajectories and influence” that focuses on improving the roles of women as leaders for changes in the justice system. This roundtable discussion also marked the stronger network of collaboration between women in justice system in the Southeast Asia.


H.E. Natasha Stott Despoja AM, Australian Ambassador on Women and Girls and Paul Robilliard, Australian Ambassador to Thailand, attended the roundtable discussion, which consisted of participants who are Judges, Prosecutors, Lawyers as well as the NGOs from 9 countries in Southeast Asia.
