The Side Event: Global Prison Trends 2019
Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ) and Penal Reform International (PRI) will launch the fifth edition of Global Prison Trends at the 28th Session of the United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ).
The report is an annual publication that provides an analysis of trends in both the use of imprisonment globally, and specific prison management issues and brings issues related to crime prevention and criminal justice to the foreground. This year’s report dedicates the Special Focus section to Prison Health.
The side event ‘Global Prison Trend 2019’ is on Tuesday 21st May 2019, UN Vienna, Austria.
Global Prison Trends is Penal Reform International’s annual flagship series. Published every year since 2015, the series identifies topical developments and challenges in criminal justice and prison policy and practice. Each report also provides 25 recommendations for states to review and improve their penal systems
