On June 11, 2015 – TIJ hosted Seminar on Criminal Justice Human Resources “How to have justice officers who are not unjust?”
This seminar aims to be for Thai criminal justice leaders and officials to exchange and view with resource persons from the Thai private sector, as well as from justice officials from foreign countries.
Dr.Kittipong Kittayarak, Executive Director of TIJ, gave an opening remarks and keynote address on “Justice System, justice officers for just and fair society”.
The panel discussion including 2 sessions on “Competent Human Resource as the Key: How to Recruit, Develop and Retain Great Ones” aims to discussed about importance of human resource recruitment, management and development for organization. And “Ways and means to recruit, develop and promote highly qualified persons for organization” aims to discuss about details on recruitment methods.
The participants of the seminar including Thai and International experts, prosecutors, professors, Judge, Police, Officials from Academics from Reform Now Network, Laws Reform Commission of Thailand, Independent National Rule of Law Commission (NRLC) and representative from private sector such as Ms.Thantarath Pothanant (Head of Executive Briefing Center & External Relations of the Siam Cement Group), Judge Boonrawd Tanprasert (Court of Appeal (Region 1), Prof. Kanueng Ruechai, Prof. Panat Tasneeyanond (Former Dean of Thammasat Law School and Former Prosecutor), Mr. Sanchai Polchai (Deputy Chief Justice of the Bangkok South Criminal Court), Mr. Suchart Lorlowhakarn (Executive Director, Department of Public Prosecutor Commission), Mr. R. Narendra Jatna (Prosecutor and Legal Attaché, Indonesian Embassy), Mr. Yusuke Hirose (Judge and professor of UNAFEI from Japan), Mr. Hirokazu Urata (Prosecutor (International Affairs), Supreme Public Prosecutors Office from Japan), Ms. Therese Blanche Bolunia, Judge (Judicial and Bar Council from the Philippines) and Mr. Peter Ong, Senior Assistant State Prosecutor from National Prosecution Service, the Philippines)
In addition, TIJ also signed MOU with Thai Public Broadcasting Service (ThaiPBS), Thailand’s first public broadcasting service, on Producing and Broadcasting Substances and Perspectives on the Development and the Reform of Criminal Justice Systems in ASEAN Countries.
