Royal Views on the Rule of Law – Princess Bajrakitiyabha

"Society cannot grow if there is instability and injustice,” said Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Mahidol – Ambassador to Austria and Permanent Representative of Thailand to the United Nations Office at Vienna and Chairperson of the Special Advisory Board of the Thailand Institute of Justice – at an interview with Associated Press (AP) on October 14th, 2013 in New York.

HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha emphasized on the upcoming international forum, “The Bangkok Dialogue on the Rule of Law”,to be held on Friday November 15th, 2013, at Siam Kempinski Hotel, Bangkok. The event aims to build momentum and contribute ideas and actions towards the deliberations of the post-2015 Development Agenda and ongoing review of the United Nation's Millennium Development Goals.

The forum will bring together world leaders as well as global experts such as José Ramos-Horta, the former President of East Timor and Head of the United Nations Integrated Peacebuilding Office in Guinea-Bissau; Yury Fedotov, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and Director General of the United Nations Office in Vienna and David Kennedy, Director of the Institute for Global Law and Policy and Professor of Law at Harvard University to discuss how the role of fair and equitable justice systems can help protect and advance sustainable development for economic growth to the benefit of all people.

"Without the rule of law, without a good justice system, it's always chaos,” HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha further said.
