March 31, 2015 - TIJ and Embassy of Canada to Thailand co-host a seminar on "Criminal Justice Performance Indicators" at Conrad Hotel, Witthayu Road, Bangkok
Prosecutors and experts from Thailand, Canada, Japan and Indonesia in the areas of criminal justice system gathered to share their knowledge, experience and recommendations of the UN rule of law indicators.
And Dr.Kittipong Kittayarak, Executive Director of TIJ, participated as a panelist on the session Criminal Justice Indicators: What is it all about and how useful it could be? with experts including Mr.Shintaro Sekiguchi from the office of Prosecution Reform Japan, Mr.Narendra Jatna from Indonesian Embassy and Ms.Annemieke Holthuis from Department of Justice Canada.
TIJ believe that a well-designed set of criminal justice performance indicators could have the dual role of spurring criminal justice reform as well as promote and support improvement of collection and production of official data and statistics by criminal justice agencies.
