The Cabinet has resolved to appoint Prof. Dr. Kittipong Kittiyarak as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors, effective as of January 13, 2025.
Dr. Kittipong Kittayarak, an internationally recognized specialist on Thailand's judicial system, has long been acknowledged for his outstanding accomplishments as an administrator and academic. He was a former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice(2008-2014), Advisor to the Prime Minister(2014-2015), and Executive Director of the Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ) (2015-2021). While he was in charge at the TIJ, he played a critical role in elevating TIJ to international prominence as an academic institution that supports UN missions and regional government initiatives. Following his term, Dr. Kittipong has advocated for the rule of law and sustainable development as national priorities. From 2017 onwards, he directed the Rule of Law and Development Program (RoLD Program) and worked as an advisor to TIJ. Under his direction, projects such as RoLD Xcelerate in 2024 have had a big social impact.
In addition to his roles in law and the justice system, Dr. Kittipong also holds significant positions in various organizations. He serves as the Chancellor of the Council of King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang and the President of the Board of Trustees of Bangkok University. He is a Board Member of the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and Krungthai Bank Public Company Limited. Additionally, he is the Vice Chairman and Member of the Executive Committee of the Friends in Need (of “PA”) Volunteers Foundation, Thai Red Cross Society, and a Member of the Executive Committee of the Bajrakitiyabha Fund for Legal Education, among other roles.
As Chair of TIJ Boards, Dr. Kittipong maintains his commitment to reform the justice system and promote the rule of law, leveraging his broad experience to drive long-term growth and demonstrable success in national and regional justice systems.
