The 2nd Seminar on the Criminal Punishment and the Human Rights

 

Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Kromluangrajasarinisiribajra Mahavajrarajadhita gave an opening speech for “the 2nd Seminar on the Criminal Punishment and the Human Rights,” hosted by the National Human Rights Commission, the Ministry of Justice, and the Thailand Institute of Justice on 6 September 2019 at the Circle Hall, Centra by Centara Hotel, Government Complex.

 


On the premise, HRH Princess stated about progresses Thailand and the international community have made in the context of the criminal justice system and the protection of the fundamental rights of prisoners according to the international norms and standards. HRH princess also reiterated the necessity of closer cooperation from involved parties to provide opportunities for those who have done wrong, especially on the access to public healthcare, as H.M. King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua has been promoting.

 

   

 


Afterwards, HRH Princess and high-level executives from the host organizations then proceeded to visit the exhibition on projects involved the criminal punishment and human rights. The 2nd seminar on the Criminal Punishment and the Human Rights provided a stage for domestic and international experts and practitioners in the human rights law and criminal justice system to exchange and propose visions and experiences of human rights standards, criminal punishment, and alternative sentences.
